A new project funded by the Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL) Research Hub is assessing the landscape for digestate-derived products and alternative uses, considering commercially ready and near-to-market technologies, to optimise digestate value.
The REAL Research Hub is funded by operators on the UK compost and biofertiliser certification schemes (CCS and BCS). It identifies (through stakeholder engagement) and manages delivery of research projects of importance to one or both schemes.
The project delivery team are currently engaging with AD site operators and other stakeholders to best understand current digestate markets, drivers and constraints to alternative uses and product development. AD site operators are being invited to complete a short online survey which explores these aspects.
If you are responsible for an AD site in the UK or Europe and interested in this topic please complete the survey, which can be accessed here.
Those taking part in the 10-minute survey will receive a short summary on project completion of digestate upgrading solutions, ranging from experimental approaches to commercially available technologies.
Further information on the project can be found at REAL Research Hub.
