The Clean Energy Sector in the Race to Zero

COP26, which will take place in Glasgow this November, is a critical moment for addressing the global climate crisis. Paris delivered a promise that the world would act on climate change. Glasgow must now show this action is a reality.
In the run up to COP26, UK energy trade associations are bringing our vibrant sector together to celebrate what it has achieved and to invite companies to take the next step in strengthening their commitment, by signing up to the UN Race to Zero campaign. Nearly 100 major UK businesses are already signed up to the Business Ambition for 1.5 commitment and some 500 smaller businesses have signed the SME Climate Commitment. As a sector we need to build on this with many more businesses committing to the emissions reductions required to meet the UK’s climate targets.
This online session will hear from senior UK government representatives on the UK’s climate leadership role and from leading businesses who have joined the Race to Zero. They will discuss how UK clean energy businesses can play a leading role in delivering our climate ambitions and contribute to the success of COP26.
