Fourth & Fifth Generation Heat Networks – Central or Distributed heat pumps

Both heat pumps and heat networks constitute a large part of the future heating strategies for the UK, in both the domestic and commercial arena, with the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) estimating that around 18% of the UK’s heat demand will need to come from heat networks by 2050 if the UK is to meet its carbon targets cost effectively.

Delivered by Laura Bishop, Director of Infinitas Design Ltd, will look at both 4th and 5th generation heat networks, their pros and cons and how heat pumps fit into both. Operational and cost aspects will also be covered. There will be a short foray into the Government’s Green Heat Networks Scheme to see how heat pumps fit into that and the opportunities for low carbon project development beyond the RHI scheme.
