The British Hydropower Association [BHA] is the only organisation that solely represents the UK hydropower and tidal range sector. Our members range from all-scale hydro developers and generators, and the entire supply chain including, but not limited to, investors, consulting engineers, manufacturers and suppliers of service and equipment.
Our vision translates into a number of key aims and objectives, including effective lobbying and liaison with national bodies and governmental agencies. Our aim is to provide all our members with the latest regulatory information and technical data, whilst promoting hydropower across the UK as the most viable and cleanest renewable energy in the UK.
As an organisation, we will continue to respond to the needs and challenges faced by the whole industry and with the help of the members and staff of the BHA we will continue to engage with key stakeholders and decision makers to address those challenges.
We must both protect our valuable industry and create new opportunities for the UK hydropower industry for this and future generations.
This is a time of change and challenge for the hydropower sector and the BHA has some significant and challenging work ahead.

Tidal Range Alliance
The association has set up a formal Working Group within the BHA called the Tidal Range Alliance [TRA].
The TRA is chaired by Henry Dixon, Chairman of North Wales Tidal Energy and brings together developers, companies, supply chain businesses and individuals involved in or with an interest in tidal range energy projects in the UK and overseas.
