Biogas plant provides town with renewable energy from animal manure

The Condate Biogas facility from Ixora Energy was built with the ability to provide renewable energy to a North Devon town, using animal manure and sustainable ‘break’ crops supplied by local farmers.

Using proven European anaerobic digestion (AD) technology and with backing from City of London funders Downing, the town of South Molton is a now a pioneering example of how rural communities can cope with the current energy crisis and tackle climate change at the same time.
